What is ultra repair laser treatment
This new laser facial rejuvenation treatment is invented by one of the laser specialists called Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick. How does ultra repair treatment works
Ultra repair combines Fraxel repair, Ultra Pulse CO2 laser, various Alexandrite and YAG lasers and the V-Beam Perfecta to create a more personalised laser skin treatment that is targeted to the skin condition of the patient. If the skin condition of the patients has been badly damaged by the likes of sun spots, old age wrinkles etc, the laser usage will be more intense. This new laser treatment for 2011 can be used to treat things such as fine lines, blood vessels on your facial and neck areas, age spots etc.
What makes this treatment unique is that the different laser will be used to treat different problems during the same procedure. This can maximise the effectiveness as there is one laser treatment that can cover all problems.
V Beam Perfecta laser will be first used to treat age spots and brown spots. In Dr Fitzptrick words :”We use the V-Beam Perfecta to treat dilated capillaries, which can be very prominent in the cheek and nose area. Next, we use the Alexandrite laser to treat unwanted brown or age spots. Some patients have prominent veins in the temporal area and under the eyes, we treat those with the long pulse Alexandite or long pulse YAG laser.”
The more intense laser such as the Fraxel: Repair and the Co2 laser will be used to treat the wrinkles lines. The fraxel laser is used to stimulate collagen growth in the deeper area of the skin to achieve a tighter skin while the co2 laser is used to treat the surface fine lines.
Through the use of all laser treatments, the doctor is able to harvest the benefits of each solution so that he is better to cater to the needs of the patient. For example, certain laser treatments are too intense for the neck and chest area. In such cases, co2 laser might be used for a gentler effect.
Another unique thing is that patients have to go for a facial filler such as botox, dysport, juvederm injections, restylane injections one week before the laser treatment. The purpose is to treat any loss in your facial volume in the nasal labial folds and the marionette lines. By treating these areas, the laser treatments can be made more effective.
How long is the Ultra repair recovery period
The downtime for the ultrarepair t is very short, as it usually range from 7-10 days. The more problematic is the patient’s skin, the longer is the recovery period. Younger patients such as teens will of course recover fast than older patients.
In terms of seeing the full results, it will take at least 3-6 months, especially for the fraxel: repair treatment.
